Scar tissue formation is part of the natural healing process after having a nose job; however, excessive or problematic scarring can alter the result of your rhinoplasty procedure.
Scar tissue may initially appear reddish-pink in color but will gradually transition to silvery or flesh hues over time. Scar massage helps accelerate this fading process by stimulating collagen remodeling while simultaneously increasing moisture and pliability of scar tissue.
1. Dehydration
Sinuses produce mucus to keep the air you breathe clean, warm and moist. If a sinus passage becomes blocked, your nose may become stuffy or you may lose your sense of smell or taste. Surgery can clear away this obstruction to improve breathing; widening the opening between sinus and nose allows easier airflow while simultaneously clearing any nasal polyps that might be causing issues.
At surgery, an anesthetic will be given to put you to sleep; this may leave you feeling groggy for several days after. A splint may be taped to your nose as protection until swelling subsides; you should refrain from strenuous activity such as strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and nose blowing for at least a week after having this done.

Under bivariate analysis, factors including age, sex, history of an ileostomy, diagnosis of high ostomy output during index admission, use of diuretics at home and change in discharge creatinine were associated with readmission for dehydration after surgical procedures. More research needs to be conducted in order to identify additional predictors that could indicate the likelihood of readmission for dehydration post surgery.
2. Excessive Weight
As with any surgery, your body will produce scar tissue to aid its own healing process. Most patients experience minimal scarring that subsides over time. But in rare cases, scar tissue may thicken and form adhesions – particularly after rhinoplasty that reduces nasal size significantly; thickened adhesions may create breathing issues and require further surgical removal; keeping up with proper skincare and following your surgeon’s recovery instructions can help minimize scarring so it does not become an issue in future.

3. Allergies
Complications after nasal surgery such as rhinoplasty can often arise; however, many can be avoided by carefully planning and following all post-op instructions from your surgeon. This includes using saline spray for moisturization after each session; sleeping with your head elevated during recovery time and taking all medications as directed.
Nasal Symptoms- Pain and swelling will initially follow surgery; this is a normal part of healing and should subside over time. Allergies- Allergies are an ever-present risk, yet especially so after nasal surgery due to increased irritation in these areas; when this becomes an issue with sinusitis symptoms it’s advisable to use antihistamines and nasal steroid sprays in order to manage them effectively.

4. Poor Healing
